On Sunday, September 18, Disney screened Beauty and the Beast, one of Disney’s classics, at the Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.  In a surprise performance, Angela Lansbury walked on stage and sang “Beauty and the Beast”.

Her character, Mrs. Potts, was well loved and is absolutely one of the most iconic Disney characters of all time.  She was a mother of several children or teacups who listened and followed her every step.  Mrs Potts in the movie acts as the voice of reason and provides guidance and stability for her prince, the Beast.

Angela Lansbury was quoted saying, the film “one of the greatest movies that she was involved with”.
After 25 years, she is still as brilliant as ever.

Here, Lansbury tells of her first discussion with producers regarding her possible role as Mrs. Potts.
